(Wed.) Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2:
Arrive in Athens, Greece. (Thu.) Time to rest or to start exploring the Hellenic capital. At 6 pm, meet your Athens Host and traveling companions for a welcome drink.
Day 3:
Athens–Piraeus (Embarkation)–Mykonos. (Fri.) Morning orientation drive in Athens before heading for Piraeus. Around 11 am, sail into the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea, easily settling into the cruising routine of sunbathing, sipping cool drinks, splashing in the pool, and reveling in the delights prepared by the ship’s expert chefs. Later, dock at the mountainous island of Mykonos with its characteristic windmills and dazzling white houses. Time to wander at whim through narrow paved streets lined with trendy boutiques and shady tavernas before returning on board. (B,L,D)
Day 4:
Kusadasi, Turkey–Patmos, Greece. (Sat.) Two ports of call today. First, discover the Turkish port of Kusadasi. An optional excursion is available to the fascinating Greek, Roman, and byzantine excavations of Ephesus. Next the tiny Greek island of Patmos, where St. John the Divine wrote the Revelation. The 11th-century monastery with its valuable manuscript collection is well worth a visit. (B,L,D)
Day 5:
Heraklion–Santorini. (Sun.) Early arrival in Heraklion on Crete. A few miles away is Knossos, the center of the 3000 BC Minoan civilization, and an optional excursion can be booked. Afternoon call (weather permitting) at Santorini, the “Black Pearl of the Aegean.” The optional shore excursion is available to the cliff-top village of Thera for one of the world’s most breathtaking panoramas. Day 6:
Piraeus, Greece (Disembarkation)–Athens. (Mon.) After breakfast on board, disembark at Piraeus and return to Athens. The remainder of the day is free to catch up on last-minute shopping. (B)
Day 7:
(Tue.) Your homebound flight arrives the same day. (B)

Discount for young travelers
Share the pleasure of a Globus vacation with your children and grandchildren and take advantage of a 10-percent discount on the land-only price. For eligibility, children must be under 18 years of age on the departure date and must be accompanied by an adult. On escorted vacations we don’t accept children under eight years old because we have found that they are too young to enjoy these vacations.
Pay less for your second vacation
We charge you vacation price for your first vacation in 2008, but for every additional Globus vacation you take in the same year, you pay US$35 under list. Our vacations are designed and scheduled so you can combine them almost any way you want. It’s fun to play the add-a-vacation game yourself or talk to your travel agent.
Triple room reduction
On most Globus vacations you receive a reduction when three people travel together and share the same accommodations. Triple room reductions, when available, are listed on the itinerary pages. A word of caution: Triple rooms usually are no larger than twin rooms and the third bed, if there is one, is often a rollaway put in a twin-bedded room.
Avoid the single room supplement
We do not take reservations on a “share” basis because we have found that strangers rarely enjoy sharing a room for the duration of their vacation. Avoid the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It’s less expensive and much more fun!
